This video demonstrates the implantation of an artificial urinary sphincter, AMS 800, via a single vertical penoscrotal incision. The procedure is explained step by step. Since an extra camera has also been added recording the preparation of the device by a specialised dedicated nurse, one can appreciate the preparing of the device simultaneously with the surgical steps recorded by the main camera. By working this way, the procedure is much quicker, in this patient for example 22 minutes. It is also clearly shown that adequate proximal dissection of the bulbar urethra is possible with a penoscrotal access. Finally, the added anatomical drawings accompanying each surgical step, make this video very educational.
