In 2023, the Video Journal of Prosthetic Urology (VJPU) was relaunched to become the Video Journal of Sexual Medicine, with the aim to become a more inclusive video journal that encompasses all the various aspects of Sexual Medicine.

VJSM is part of the ISSM portfolio of journals, which also includes The Journal of Sexual Medicine (JSM), Sexual Medicine Reviews (SMR) and Sexual Medicine Open Access (SMOA).

Today, the VJSM includes 360+ peer reviewed videos, including all aspects of sexual medicine including male and female sexual dysfunction topics, gender affirming surgery, cosmetic surgery, oncosexology and more.

The journal is not only geared toward surgical videos but also includes procedural, clinical, and other instructional content.

Over the last years, the journal has expanded to include other content including the VJSM Legends Series, the VJSM Debate Series and the VJSM My Preference is Series.

VJSM now also includes a dedicated VJSM Residents Corner, which includes videos geared towards the education of trainees through a structured didactic process.
