Description
Periurethral balloon implants offer a minimally invasive option for managing stress urinary incontinence, even in complex patients with prior pelvic radiation, urethral stricture, or multiple incontinence surgeries. Despite these higher-risk factors, complications such as balloon migration, erosion, or infection can be effectively managed with close surveillance, timely intervention, and appropriate surgical technique. Fluoroscopic guidance and individualized planning are essential, particularly in patients with prior urologic implants. Overall, ProACT remains a safe and feasible option in carefully selected high-risk populations.
