Description

The video presents a complex 30 y/o female urethral reconstruction using a gracilis muscular flap in a post-bowel vaginal reconstruction for a congenital abnormality. The procedure aims to restore urethral function, allowing the patient to resume selfcatheterization for neurogenic bladder management. The case is further complicated by a transplant kidney and recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs), with the presence of a urethral diverticulum. The video displays preoperative imaging, including scans of the patient’s urethral diverticulum, to illustrate the anatomical challenges. The surgical technique is demonstrated through images and live surgical footage, providing a detailed view of the reconstruction process. Additionally, the video discusses postoperative information about the success of the procedure.
