Description
Vasectomy is a common procedure performed for sterilization worldwide, including in the United States. The vasectomy rate increased by 26%, and 6% of men who have had prior vasectomies may seek vasectomy reversal. In this surgical video, we will present a step-by-step surgical video showing out technique for vaso-vasostomy. After delivering the testicle, we palpate the vasectomy sites and the vas is dissected to the area of the previous vasectomy. After excising the vasectomy site, we look for the color and consistency of the expressed fluid as well as for the presence of sperms. Once we confirm those findings, we do our mucosal and muscular anastomosis under the microscope using 9/0 nylon interrupted sutures. By presenting this surgical video, we aim to provide high quality virtual and technique guide to both urologic trainees or practicing urologists.
