Penile Implant, “no touch”

This video describes placement of an inflatable penile prosthesis though a vertical midline scrotal incision. The procedure is enhanced by replacing the instruments, surgical gloves and installation of a barrier drape after the incision is completed and the corpora are exposed. This augmentation of the classic surgical technique allows the prosthesis components to be protected from contact with the patient’s skin. The authors believe that the “no touch” enhancement has lowered their infection rate from 2% to 0.46%
